After a great week in London Sebastian, with his brother Jesper on the bag, finished T2 at Bridgestone Challenge which also gave him 2nd place on the Challenge Tour ranking. When the tournament is played in your hometown you will, of course, be followed by a lot of friends, family and other fans. A big crowd came to see Sebastian and many of the other Swedes. Sebastian struggled a bit on Thursday, had a good Friday but still, he missed the cut, on the edge.

Winner Under Italy’s Sizzling Sun

After an extremely hot week with gruelling conditions on the final day, Sebastian was delighted to come out on top at the Italian Challenge.
“I played some nice golf today and it feels amazing to win,” he said in an interview Sunday afternoon. “It was a struggle to focus out there in the heat, which kind of helped because I was so focused on eating, drinking and walking with a wet towel. From Turkey to Portugal

Sebastian played well from tee to green in Belek 26-29 May. With a hot putter it could have been a great week, but that was not the case.

Focus on The European Challenge Tour 2018

2017 Sebastian played mostly on The European Tour and got the lowest score on the Tour, a 61, at The Rocco Forte Open in Italy. That was also a new Course Record.
He ended the year with some well played tournaments but it was not enough to keep The Card.

Srixon – New Sponsor in time for Perth

In January Sebastian signed a contract with a new club sponsor – Srixon. He´s been working his new clubs for the last months and it seems to work perfectly fine. In his first tournament with his new Srixon irons, the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth, he is the only Swede that made the second day cut, with 67 players. As this tournament is played in a new format there will be a new cut after round three. Only 24 players will play the 4th round which will be played as five rounds of six-hole match play battles – Super 6.Show more »

PGA Future Fund
The purpose of the Swedish PGA Future Fund is to provide promising young Swedish golf professionals direct financial support to help the players to step out on a higher tour.
Many Swedish players have made outstanding good performances during the past year and to choose stipend winners for 2017 has meant pleasant difficulties for Swedish PGA
The PGA Future Fund started in 1998. Over the last 19 years, 109 professionals have received stipends totaling 6.935 million Swedish crowns (SEK).
Sebastian was, as one out of 12 promising Swedes, awarded with SEK 50.000.

Athlete of the year!
Sebastian has been awarded “The athlete of the year, 2016” in his home municipality Partille. The prize is decided by the local newspaper Partille Tidning.

The main performances during 2016, that made him the winner, was his first win on the Challenge Tour at Kenya Open, his participation in US Open, his first Major, and finally the advancement to the European Tour.

Getting Ready at Black Mountain

A 6 days’ drama gave Sebastian the ET-card

After 6 long days on the ET Q-school Sebastian reached his overall goal for this season: a European Tour card for 2017.
It certainly started very tough. After two days Sebastian was on 105th place and top 25 looked far away. The Fat Lady started her journey to Girona, ready to sing after day 4.
Day 3 was a good step forward. Now it was reachable to make the cut after day 4, keeping the singing away.
Day 4 and 5 was excellent. Together with fellow Swede Pontus Widegren, and the final winner Nathan Kimsey, Sebastian performed the best score in the field and gave us hope that he could finish top 25. Following the live score reports day 6 all his fans were kept in tension until Sebastian’s last birdie on hole 18. Now that Fat Lady finally could start singing and now for joy.
